Yeovil Town knocked out of FA Cup
Yeovil Town FC will now return to focus on their bid to avoid relegation to the National League after losing 4-0 to Premier League side Manchester United at Huish Park.
Marcus Rashford scored the first goal in the 41st minute, followed by Ander Herrera at 61 minutes then Jesse Lingard at 89 minutes.The game ended with a surprise goal by Romelu Lukaku three minutes into extra time.
The Glovers played valiantly in front of a sell-out crowd of over 9,000 people, starting off with Jordan Green's early effort saved by keeper Sergio Romero.
Yeovil, who knocked out League One Bradford City in the third round of the Cup, will still benefit of over £140,000 of television broadcast revenue.
The last time the club was in the fourth round of the Cup was in 1949, making it only a three year total in the club's history.
Yeovil Town will play Grimsby Town in Football League Two on Tuesday 30 January at 7.45pm.
