Perfect pre-planned Plymouth panto proposal

Pantomime fans in Plymouth were treated to a Christmas surprise when a member of the audience proposed.

46-year-old Charlie Stains popped the question to girlfriend Jane Symons, 43, at the Theatre Royal during a Christmas Eve performance of Peter Pan.

Mr Stains says he is grateful to the theatre staff for helping with his proposal.

"We arrived and they announced the two chairs we were supposed to be sitting in at the back of the theatre were broken and as a complimentary gesture they would move us to the front."

According to Mr Stains, the panto was a perfect place to ask the big question.
