Historic village pub closed until further notice after devastating fire

A village pub in Cornwall has had to close until further notice after a "devastating" fire yesterday.

No one was hurt after flames broke out in the roof of the Finnygook Inn in Crafthole near Whitsandbay.

Posting on Facebook, the landlords have said the pub will have to remain closed until further notice.

Firefighters from four different crews worked for hours to make sure all pockets of the fire were out.

The crews posted on Facebook to express their sympathy for the pub owners and the community, and promising to visit the pub again in happier times:

An investigation into what caused the fire is being carried out today.

A GoFundMe page has been set upto try to raise £2,500 to help with the repair work.
