Thousands affected by power cut in Dorset and Somerset
A power cut is affecting thousands of homes and businesses across parts of Somerset and Dorset.
Energy company Scottish and Southern Electricity says that a cable was damaged by a third party at 11.10am this morning, 24 November 2017.
It has resulted in 2,250 of its customers - which will include schools, homes and businesses being left without power on a day when temperatures are in single figures.
Scottish and Southern Electricity says its engineers are en route to the site where the power cable was damaged. They expect to arrive by 1.30pm and will be able to have a better picture then when power will be restored.
People who are experiencing a power cut or who are concerned should call 105.
