Blog: Should our heating be off... or on?

That has been the debate in my household over the last few weeks. One minute we have hurricanes...or ex hurricanes along with lashing rain and strong winds...the next all is calm.

The one constant though has been the temperature; apart from a few dips highs have remained above average for most of October. Usually, at this time of year, we would see values of 13 or 14C but most days we've enjoyed 17 or 18 with the odd 20 thrown in and some pretty warm nights as well.

So every time I thought it was cold enough for the heating to go back on the temperature would rise again so my finger has hovered over the central heating button for most of October.

However, that is all about change because as we head towards the weekend so a cold front will introduce some colder, fresher air and whilst it won't be really cold, temperatures will be back to "normal" at around 13 or 14 degrees.

Time to light the fire and enjoy some "proper autumn weather."
