Swindon boxer prepares to fight for World title

A Swindon boxer is gearing up for the biggest challenge of his career as he fights for a world title.

Jamie Cox faces champion George Groves in a bid to claim the WBA Super-Middleweight title.

But Cox has shunned the bright lights and the big boxing gyms for a rather unusual preparation as he trains beneath a Birmingham butcher's shop.

Cox is part of the World Boxing Super Series and faces the number one seed George Groves this weekend.

As top seed, Groves could pick his opponent from the group of fighters, opting for Cox and saying he was the easy option.

Cox says he is not interested in starting a war of words.

Quietly spoken Cox is unbeaten so far in his career but knows he will face a dangerous opponent in Groves - especially with a belt on the line.

The Swindon fighter is one of many getting into shape in John Costello's boxing gym under the butcher's shop.

Cox is hoping his winning streak continues and in preserving undefeated status he can become a world champion.

As he trains hard beneath the rows of meat, Cox will be hoping the stakes are not too high when he challenges for Groves' title.
