A cash point in North Somerset has been targeted by thieves for the second time in two weeks.

Police say cash was stolen from the ATM on Rodney Road in Backwell.

Thieves apparently forced their way into the ATM before making off in a vehicle with the money.

It follows an incident two weeks ago when gas canisters were found near to the cash point.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary say they are investigating the incident.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident to call 101.
