A father from Bristol has been named among the four victims of a "harrowing" crash on the M5 over the weekend.

Adrian Beaumont, 46, was driving his car when a lorry crashed through the central reservation into the oncoming traffic.

His two children and partner, who were also in the car, are being treated in hospital for serious injuries. His partner remains in a critical condition.

Police described the crash on Saturday afternoon as "harrowing" and "horrific".

It happened between junctions 16 and 14 of the M5, and the northbound carriageway remained closed until Monday morning.

Police are still investigating what caused the lorry to plough through the central reservation, and the driver is assisting police with their enquiries.
