Cheltenham clown says new movie is no laughing matter
A Cheltenham clown says a new movie featuring a killer clown is affecting the way people see the entertainers.
Tweedy the Clown says he is concerned the release of 'It' could encourage a resurgence in the trend of people dressing up as clowns and scaring people.
He is also worried children will start to only associate clowns with being scared.
The adaptation of Stephen King's novel 'It' is currently in cinemas.
The movie features a menacing clown called Pennywise who terrifies a group of children.
The film grossed nearly £10 million during its opening weekend.
Tweedy says clowns are not as popular with children's parties as they used to be.
He says they have been replaced by other entertainers such as pirate impersonators.
