Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards tests out new adventure attractions
Olympian Eddie Edwards, nicknamed 'The Eagle', tested out the Eden Project and Hangloose Adventure’s new attraction yet: a six-storey-high free fall onto a giant airbag.
The ski jump champion was strapped with a harness before being dropped from almost 20 metres high on to an enormous inflated air bag at the adventure park in Cornwall.
Edwards also opened another new Hangloose ride, a stand-up 360 degree swing that flips riders upside down known as Vertigo 360.
The two rides, Freefall and Vertigo 360, make the newest attractions at Hangloose Adventure’s complex at the Eden Project, Cornwall.
Hangloose at Eden also operate England’s longest and fastest zipwire, a giant swing and a free fall simulator off a purpose-built tower.
Eddie Edwards is well known for competing in the ski jump competition at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada.
In 2016, a film entitled 'Eddie the Eagle' was release, telling his life's tale, featuring actors Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman and Christopher Walken and was directed by Dexter Fletcher.
