This is the third major fire in the area in recent years.

Castle Cary Fire Station say they are still working to make the area safe.

Dimmer Landfill is a large site measuring around 100m x 100m.

Once the scale of the fire became clear, more fire crews were enlisted to tackle the flames.

People living in the area were advised to keep their windows and doors closed because of smoke.

A pillar of smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

It's not yet known exactly how the fire started.
