Two men die in light aircraft crash
Two men have died in a crash of a light aircraft east of Compton Abbas Airfield near Shaftesbury.
Police were called to the scene just before 9.30am today, Saturday 26 August 2017, after reports that the a Tiger Moth had come down and smoke was seen in the area.
Emergency services attended the scene to deal with the incident and the Air Accident Investigation Branch was informed.
The pilot, a 64 year old man from Blandford, and his passenger, a 67 year old man from Shaftesbury both died in the crash.
