A father from Ivybridge has spoken to ITV West Country about the terrifying moment he and his family were caught up in the terror attack in Barcelona.

Luke Millard was on a day trip in the Spanish city with his family when a terrorist rammed down pedestrians using a van.

Still trying to process the 'what-ifs', Luke Millard shared how he had just bought an ice cream from a stand minutes before it was obliterated by the terrorist van.

His brother would have been drinking coffee at a cafe that was also hit, if he had not left the place because he wasn't served.

Luke, his wife and his youngest son, Corey, who's eight years old, are all still struggling to come to terms with what happened.

They were all on holiday together with Luke's mum, brother and grandmother and his older son, 12-year-old Ethan.

Luke also said that shortly before the attack, he and his brother saw a man acting suspiciously in Las Ramblas.

At the time they thought he was a pick-pocket, but they have since passed on their description of him to the authorities.
