Three killed in car crash on the A361

Police have confirmed two children and a woman believed to be their mother have died as a result of a collision this morning on the A361 Barnstaple.

The collision occurred near Landkey Junction as the family drove towards Barnstaple.

Emergency services were called at 8.25am to the A361, near Aller Cross at Barnstaple following a two vehicle collision between a car and a lorry.

A road closure has been put on at West Buckland junction and the Landkey junction on the A361 whilst officers conduct scene investigations.

The carriageway was also closed in both directions to allow the Air Ambulance to land.

The closure is likely to be on all day and motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
