Exeter City have confirmed that youngster Ollie Watkins has been sold for a club record fee to Championship side Brentford.

The 21 year old from Newton Abbott was named the football league's young player of the year last season after scoring 16 goals for the Grecians. He has signed a four year deal at Griffin Park, the exact fee amount is undisclosed at Brentford's request.

Watkins says Exeter City will always have "a special place in his heart" and that he'll be keeping an eye on the team's results.

Ollie also has a special relationship with the Exeter City supporters, who regularly chanted "he’s one of our own" from the stands in his direction.
