Soapbox racing returns to Portishead
Soapbox racing has returned to Portishead for the first time in 60 years.
Thirty five teams signed up to the event on Sunday July 16. Each team raced along a 400 metre track down the town's Esplanade.
The course featured a number of obstacles and ramps.
The idea for the race came from local men Ben Knowles and Sam Garland.

The karts used must be handmade and have three or four wheels. The racers were encouraged to wear fancy dress to the event.
