Five unexpected arrivals...
Cotswold Wildlife Park is celebrating the birth of its first ever litter of five Eurasian Wolf cubs.
First-time parents Ash and Ember joined the collection in October 2016. as part of a European breeding programme.
Mammal keepers weren't expecting the pair to produce cubs quite so soon (as Wolves can take a long time to bond - added to the fact that females only come into season once a year).
The newborns are an unexpected but very welcome addition.
Keepers only discovered the cubs after mother Ember moved her litter out from the underground birthing den following a particularly heavy downpour one night.
They took shelter above ground under a tree which is when keepers saw the cubs for the very first time.
