Unsafe cladding in Plymouth won't be removed till November
Residents in Plymouth's tower blocks found to have unsafe cladding in the wake of the Grenfell Tower disaster have been officially reassured by Devon and Somerset Fire chiefs that they are safe.
However, the cladding on the three blocks at Mount Wise which failed fire safety tests won't be removed until November.
It's been more than a week since the cladding on the tower blocks in Mount Wise were identified as a fire risk.
Residents recently learned that it will now be November or December till the cladding which surrounds these blocks comes down.
It was given the lowest rating for fire safety.
Joe Hessell, from Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is keen to reassure people that the towers are safe.
Meanwhile, a meeting will be held on June 30 with residents to discuss the next course of action, and their local MP Luke Pollard will be there to listen to concerns
