Bristol tower block visits to continue for another week

Firefighters in Bristol are continuing to visit residents in tower blocks across the city to reassure them about the safety of their homes.

On Friday night thousands of people were evacuated from the Chalcots Estate in Camden after the council to allow 'urgent fire safety works' to take place.

The Government has confirmed 27 blocks of flats in 15 local authority areas have failed fire cladding safety tests.

Tower blocks in Easton, Westbury-on-Trym and Southville are among those expecting visits on Saturday.

On Thursday the Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees and others from Bristol City Council joined firefighters on a visit to a tower block in city.

More than 30 buildings will also receive next week.
