Mother of murder victim files complaint against Wiltshire Police

The mother of a murder victim has made a formal complaint about Wiltshire Police's handling of her daughter's case.

The remains of Becky Godden were found in a field in Eastleach in Gloucestershire in March 2011. But it took until September 2016 for a case to come to trial.

Now, Becky's mother, Karen Edwards says much of the evidence existed five years before but officers had not followed up leads between Steve Fulcher leaving the investigation in 2011 and 2014, when another leading senior investigator was appointed.

Mrs Edwards made the complaint to the police watchdog the IPCC, who has referred it to Wiltshire Police to investigate.
