Terror mosque attack suspect originally from Weston-super-Mare

The 47 year old man arrested in connection with the terror attack at a mosque in North London has been named as Darren Osborne.

Osborne is originally from Weston-super-Mare and now lives Cardiff, where police searches of a property are being carried out.

A van was driven into a crowd of muslim worshippers outside a mosque in Finsbury Park on Sunday evening. One man died and several others were injured.

Osborne has been arrested on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of terrorism including murder and attempted murder.

The suspect's home in Cardiff is the scene of a police investigation and ITV News reporter Rupert Evelyn is there.

Osborne's family has confirmed his identity and told ITV News they are shocked and struggling to cope with the news. He remains in police custody this evening.
