Two soldiers killed in incident at Castlemartin training range are named
Two "exceptionally talented" soldiers who died in an army training incident have been named by the Ministry of Defence.
Corporals Matthew Hatfield and Darren Nielson of the Wiltshire-based Royal Tank Regiment died after sustaining injuries their in the exercise at the Castlemartin Ranges in South West Wales.
The Ministry of Defence has not disclosed the nature of the incident that led to their deaths, but the range is known to be used for tanks and armoured units to carry out direct-fire live gunnery exercises.
An inquiry into their deaths and the serious injuries of two others is ongoing and the MoD has suspended tank live firing exercises as a precaution.
The Royal Tank Regiment is based at the Tidworth Camp in Wiltshire.
