Hero passer-by stops woman jumping from Clifton Suspension Bridge

A woman who stepped in to stop another woman from jumping from the Clifton Suspension Bridge today has been praised by police.

The member of the public, who has not been named, was with her child on the Triangle when she was approached by a distressed woman asking where the bridge was.

Concerned, the mother followed the woman to the bridge. When the woman then positioned herself and prepared to jump, the heroic member of the public pulled her back, stayed with her and calmed her down before the police arrived.
