Exeter City reveals £3.5 million plans to redevelop stadium

Exeter City has revealed plans to redevelop St James Park, with construction due to begin next month.

The multi-million pound upgrade will see the Old Grandstand replaced and the away end improved with new terracing.

Julian Tagg, Exeter City FC chairman, said: "We are delighted to announce that contracts have finally been signed for the stadium improvement works at St James Park. This is the culmination of over two-and-a-half years of incredibly complex negotiations."

Exeter City say the new stand, which will cost in the region of £3.5 million, will have no pillars to obstruct the view and have vastly improved toilets and refreshment facilities.

Student accommodation will also be built on the site, behind the stadium.

Fans with season tickets for the Old Grandstand will be relocated to the main stand, during construction.
