Plymouth Argyle prepare for title push as teams prepare for final weekend of the season
Make the most of this weekend - a long summer without the comfort of regular football and rugby beckons.
But despite the prospect of several months without that football fix or rugby rush this final weekend of the season has plenty to offer.
On Saturday Plymouth Argyle's Green Army go to Grimsby hoping to see their side clinch the League Two title in the last game of the season.
They are of course already promoted but the cherry on that cake would be to lift the title with a final day win. As long as they match Doncaster and Portsmouth's results they will be top dogs in League Two.
Come what may Plymouth's season will be over tomorrow but Exeter City have a little longer to learn their fate. The Grecians guaranteed a play-off place last weekend and, in what could be a taster for those play-offs, they face Carlisle who sit just one place below them on the final day of the season.
Yeovil are already safe but could make their season look a bit brighter. They play Colchester United who have a play-off place of their own to play for.
And it will be all smiles at Fratton Park for Cheltenham's trip to Portsmouth. Gary Johnson's side are safe and Portsmouth are guaranteed promotion. All games in League Two kick off at 5.30pm.
On Sunday Bristol City will sign off with a 12pm home game against Birmingham City.
Lee Johnson's side have won four of their last five games meaning the last day of the season does not bring with it any risk of relegation. It could still be pretty tense though - their opponents Birmingham may well need a result to guarantee their survival.
For City it's now about next season and securing the future of striker Tammy Abraham. The Chelsea man has scored a vital 26 goals in the Championship this season and - although he doesn't yet know where he will be next term - he's hoping one day to return to the Robins.
For the Bristol City Women their season has only just begun. The latest stage of it sees them travel to Sunderland Ladies in the WSL One on Saturday evening.
And on Sunday Forest Green Rovers are at home to Dagenham and Redbridge in the second leg of the play-offs in the National League. They go into the game off the back of a 1-1 draw on Thursday and could book their place at Wembley for the chance to play league football next season.
In rugby The Premiership season finishes on Saturday with all games kicking off at 4pm.
Exeter Chiefs are one of three teams battling it out for the top spot and won't have to travel too far from home on the final day. They are up against Gloucester at Kingsholm who will finish in mid-table regardless of the result. Their main priority will surely be to come through unscathed for the European Challenge Cup Final at Murrayfield next Friday.
Wasps v. Saracens will have a big impact on Exeter's final placing as those two sides sit in first and third respectively. Exeter would love top spot as it would guarantee a home berth in the semi-finals of the play-offs.
Talking of the play-offs Bath still have the slimmest of chances of making the top four but they will need a big swing on the final day. They must beat Sale and hope the Worcester Warriors spring a surprise against Leicester.
There's one certainty in the Premiership and it's that Bristol are already down but they could leave the league on a high with a final day win over Newcastle.
And if you've got this far but are not a football or rugby fan then maybe tune into this weekend's cricket instead.
England are in action against Ireland in a one-day international in Bristol today while Gloucestershire travel to Hampshire in the Royal London One Day Cup on Sunday.
