Bodmin Jail development plans stalled
Plans to turn Bodmin Jail into a 63-bedroom hotel with a new visitor centre have stalled.
Councillors decided to delay making a decision on the £30 million project until they'd had a site visit.
Bodmin Jail bosses want to demolish a former hospital wing and build a new two storey visitor attraction with the former cells converted into luxury hotel rooms.
The jail needs to use a park opposite the site to create a new car park. But councillors and members of the public raised concerns about the loss of a public green space.
