A family's joy as missing Hazel and Bertie are found
It was the news her family feared they'd never hear - a 71-year-old woman and her dog have been found safe after having been missing for days.
Hazel Denham went missing on Tuesday 4 April when she left home in Minchinhampton in Gloucestershire to walk her dog Bertie.
Hazel and Bertie's disappearance prompted a huge search and concern that she might not be found alive grew with every hour.
The grandmother was discovered by a member of the public in Toadsmoor Woods this morning, 7 April. She was described as "weak but in good spirits" and was taken to hospital by ambulance to be checked over and looked after.
This was her family's reaction to Hazel - and Bertie - being found safe and well.
We were there as the police returned Bertie to the family. Hazel's husband is quite certain that the little poodle-terrier cross looked after her - describing the pair as inseparable.

A host of agencies and people helped in the search for the pair. Hazel's family are overwhelmed with thanks for them and their support. They include Gloucestershire Police, Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue, SARA, Serve-on and members of the public
