F1's Jenson Button is disqualified for going too fast

He's known for being fast - but his speed has seen Somerset's Jenson Button disqualified from his latest competition.

The Formula One driver from Frome, who announced his retirement at the end of last season, was competing in an Iron Man race in California when he crossed the line - only to be told he had cycled too fast.

The competition was made up of a 1.2-mile swim, a 56 mile cycle ride and a half marathon. Button should have slowed down on part of the bike route for safety reasons but didn't brake enough.

If he hadn't been disqualified, the 37-year-old would have been able to compete in the Iron World Championships.
