Teachers from St John and St Francis School in Bridgwater, Somerset have spoken out about their experience during the Westminster terror attack.

A group of 53 year six pupils were visiting the Houses of Parliament when an attacker mounted a pavement on Westminster Bridge and mowed down a number of pedestrians.

Parliament went into lockdown, and the children helped "lighten" the mood by singing, as chaos ensued around them.

Deputy Headteacher Alexis Piper has spoken about maintaining a feeling of calm for the children during the attack.

Headteacher Lisa Farley said that the 'children have been brilliant' in the manner in which they returned to school today, the day after being caught up in the attack.
