Lee Johnson thanks left-back Joe Bryan's father for successful surgery on dad Gary
Bristol City cruised to a 4-0 win against Huddersfield last night to further ease the pressure on manager Lee Johnson.
Tammy Abraham scored his 22nd goal of the season at Ashton Gate as City ran riot with two goals in each half.
Lee Tomlin gave the Robins the lead before Abraham struck in the 14th minute of added time after Huddersfield defender Jonathan Hogg suffered a serious neck injury.
Aden Flint flicked home a clever third after the break before David Cotterill's late penalty sealed an emphatic win.
That penalty was earned by emerging left-back Joe Bryan whose fine run was unfairly halted by Huddersfield substitute Phil Billing.
And after the game Lee Johnson revealed it was not the only favour his left-back has done for him this week.
He told reporters Bryan's father was the surgeon who carried out the heart operation on his own father and former City manager Gary Johnson.
Johnson senior is now recovering at hospital in Bristol but Johnson junior described the victory as a 'massive tonic' for him.
