New arrest in Jordan Taylor murder investigation

An 18-year-old man from Trowbridge has been arrested by police investigating the death of Jordan Taylor, who was stabbed to death in the Wiltshire town on Sunday 12 March.

Detectives from Wiltshire Police detained the man on suspicion of murder this evening, 17 March 2017 and he is now in custody in Melksham.

Jordan Taylor, and a friend were in the Timbrell Street and Prospect Place area early on Sunday when they were assaulted. Jordan died from stab wounds in the grounds of Trowbridge Community Hospital. His friend suffered minor injuries.

A major incident room has been set up in Trowbridge Police Station and up to 100 officers are working on the case.

Inquiries are continuing and officers are urging anyone with information about Jordan Taylor's death to contact them on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

  • A 27-year-old man from Westbury, who was arrested yesterday (16 March 2017) has been released with no further action. Police say he is not connected to this investigation
