Meet the Swindon mum going for gold in the World Figure Skating Championships

If you're a mum or dad - what's the best reason you've had for missing the school run? Well, Zoe Jones from Swindon has a pretty good one.

She the British Figure Skating Champion and spends hours on end on the ice rink.

She and her partner Christopher Boyadji are heading to the World Championships in Helsinki later this month.

The 37-year-old often finds herself competing against women half her age - but after retiring for 13 years she decided to give it a go to get fit once more.

Her partner, Christopher Boyadji is from France, but represents Great Britain thanks to a technicality.

Just one of the pair has to be a citizen of the country, and as Christopher was already competing for Great Britain with a previous partner, he made the decision to stay.

The pair say ice skating is underfunded and they need £50,000 a year to compete for Britain.

They've started a crowdfunding campaign to raise £20,000 in the next year. It is tough practising the lifts while fundraising and being a mum.

They are off to the World Championships with this routine at the end of the month.

Juggling being a mum of three with being one of the best figure skaters on the planet.
