1 March is the first day of spring - at least according to the Met Office.

The first signs of the changing season are already out in Cornwall - this magnolia tree at the Lost Gardens of Heligan is one of six trees across the county that are monitored to find out when spring has sprung.

They bloom much earlier than the rest of the UK mainland thanks to the warmer climate.
