Singing group Fisherman's Friends say they'll play a free concert in Ilfracombe for fans left out of pocket following the closure of the Landmark Theatre.

The Cornish shanty singers were due to play at the Landmark a week on Friday. But that show was cancelled when the theatre closed suddenly last month.

North Devon Theatres Trust went into administration in January, leaving thousands of concert goers unable to obtain refunds for pre-booked shows.

Fisherman's Friends say they're hoping to stage the free show as soon as possible.

Last week North Devon Council leader Des Brailey assured the public that the authority was doing everything in its power to re-open the theatres as soon as possible.
