Mother describes moment her baby was shot
The father of a toddler who was shot in the head with an air rifle has described the actions of his son's shooter as an "unforgivable act" as he called for new licensing laws for air weapons.
Edward Studley's son Harry was just 18 months old when he was shot in the head while visiting a neighbour at a flat in Bristol and only just survived despite doctor's fears that he might not make it.
Harry, now two, has been left with a pellet in his skull, a visibly swollen head, and blind in one eye as a result of the shooting.
His mother, Amy Allen, said she feared Harry had died when she heard the gunshot during a visit to the home of Jordan Walters and Emma Horseman.
Harry needed emergency surgery and now wears a special helmet to protect his head. It's not yet known whether he'll make a full recovery.
Earlier this week Emma Horseman was cleared at Bristol Crown Court of unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm by aiding or abetting an offender.
It was claimed she had encouraging her boyfriend to shoot the crying toddler in the head with an air rifle. Jordan Walters has already pleaded guilty to unlawfully and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm on the toddler and will be sentenced at a later date.
