Closed North Devon theatres could reopen under new management

North Devon District Council says its committed to reopening its two theatres as quickly as possible .

The council owns the Queens Theatre buildings in Barnstaple and the Landmark Theatre in Ilfracombe but contracts out to the North Devon Theatre Trust who appointed administrators.

The council says its waiting for the keys to be returned which could take up to a month.

The two North Devon theatres were forced into administration last week.

Hundreds of people marched to save the theatres after hearing that they would be closed.

At a public meeting, North Devon District Council pledged to appoint an interim team for one year at the two locations.
