MP for Totnes, Sarah Wollaston, says the new US President, Donald Trump, shouldn't be invited to address both Houses of Parliament from Westminster Hall on his state visit.

The Conservative MP goes on to say that such an invite should only go to leaders 'who have made an outstanding positive difference in the world' and 'that doesn't include Trump'.

She ends by calling President Trump 'a sickening piece of work'.

Last week it was announced that Donald Trump will make an official state visit to Britain later in 2017.

The Prime Minister invited Mr Trump on behalf of the Queen whilst meeting with him in Washington.

Sarah Wollaston says her tweets are to clarify her position after an 'inaccurate story' was leaked to the press.
