Swan shot with crossbow 'unlikely to survive'
A swan who was shot in the head with a crossbow is "unlikely to survive", say police.
Fondly known as 'George', the bird is well known to the community by Pittville Park in Cheltenham.
He's currently being treated at the Vale Wildlife Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre, where vets say his condition is critical:
"The bolt has been removed but George has lost a massive amount of blood and we cannot be sure yet what damage has been done inside."
A reward of £1000 has been offered for any information leading to a successful prosecution. Police are also appealing for witnesses.
