Ricky Gervais pledges profits of next gig to dog rescue charity

Comedian Ricky Gervais has pledged to give the profits of his next warm-up gig to a dog rescue charity in Devon.

Nowzad has a base in Tiverton, and works to reunite stray cats and dogs from Afghanistan with the servicemen and women who rescued them while on their tour of duty.

Ricky Gervais will be playing two warm-up gigs in London ahead of a national stand-up tour later in the year.

Posting a live video on Facebook, the comedian paid tribute to the "amazing" work Nowzad do.

Tickets for "Humanity" go on sale on Friday at 10am.
