60 jobs saved in Yeovil with multimillion pound MOD deal

The MP for Yeovil has welcomed the news of a multimillion pound deal which will safeguard 60 more jobs in the town's helicopter industry.

Last week the Ministry of Defence signed a deal worth £271 million with Leonardo Helicopters to continue to support Wildcat helicopters

Leonardo Helicopters will also support the manufacturing of a new helicopter-borne surveillance system designed to protect Royal Navy ships.

Marcus Fysh, MP for Yeovil, said: “Just last week, our Minister for Defence Procurement Harriett Baldwin signed a deal that will protect 400 local jobs. Her announcement today will protect 60 more jobs in Yeovil which is great news for our town."
