Mayor of Bristol Marvin Rees makes call for nominations for city's Young Heroes awards
The Mayor of Bristol, Marvin Rees, has called for people to offer their nominations for the 2017 Bristol Young Heroes Awards.
He was joined by last year's Young Hero award winner Ebony Clark as he launched this year's awards at City Hall this morning.
The awards are seen as the Oscars for young people who have overcome challenge and adversity to make a contribution to the city.
The mayor said it was 'incredibly inspirational' to hear some of the stories of last year's winners:
Nominations are open until next Wednesday and you can put forward the name of a young person you think deserves to be recognised here.
The winners will be announced at a gala at the end of March.
