The first callout of the year for the coastguard in Torbay was to rescue a dog which had fallen down a cliff and into a rabbit hole.

Emergency teams set up safety equipment to allow a cliffman to abseil down the side of Walls Hill, where the pet's owner was able to direct them.

The cliffman located the animal, but it refused to leave the rabbit hole. Another 30 minutes passed before the dog was winched back up the rock.
