Devon remembers Kirstie Tancock
The funeral of a young woman who inspired thousands of people to become organ donors took place in Exeter on Friday (16/12).
Kirstie Tancock from Honiton had cystic fibrosis and went through two double lung transplants.
Hundreds of people attended her funeral dressed in bright colours to celebrate her life.
Our reporter Jacquie Bird has followed Kirstie's story for years; she was invited to attend the funeral.
You can see her report in full here:
The 27 year old received her first transplant in 2011 three weeks after marrying her husband Stuart. She had a second three years ago, but in May this began suffering chronic rejection.
She spent her remaining time planning her funeral and raising money for Harefield Hospital.
Kirstie meticulously planned her funeral before she passed away. Speaking in November 2016, she said 'My funeral is almost planned to a T and I will carry on doing this. It's going to be such an event I'm a little sad I can't watch.'
