Charity 'overwhelmed' by refugee donations
A South West charity has been overwhelmed with donations for refugees hit by the devastating war in Syria.
Next week the fourth 40ft container load of aid will leave the region, bound for the refugee camps which have been set up on the border of Syria.
Goods of all kinds fill every nook and cranny of this storage unit in Saltash. It's run by the charity Open Hearts Open Borders who're helping Syrian refugees.
The distressing pictures of the conflict in Syria have touched the hearts of people in the South West, desperate to help the hundreds of thousands of civilians who've fled the violence.
And the help keeps on coming. Boxes of baby items were brought to the unit today from Kingswear in south Devon by Janette Hart and her son Giles.
And there's no shortage of volunteers who've come from Cornwall and the Plymouth area to sort the mountain of donated goods.
The youngest volunteer today was ten year old Emily Gainsborough.
And the children in the camps won't miss out on Christmas. This box of gifts was donated by pupils from Seaton Primary School.
