Service to pay thanks to Exeter firefighters

A special service will take place at Exeter Cathedral this morning to thank the emergency services for their handling of a fire that swept through the oldest hotel in England.

The Royal Clarence Hotel was almost completely destroyed by the blaze two weeks ago. Much of what was left had to be demolished.

Today's service was organised to express relief and gratitude that their were no fatalities or injuries.
