A farmer whose farm was devastated by flooding on the Somerset Levels three years ago is calling on MPs to prevent a repetition.

James Winslade had to evacuate hundreds of cattle from his property after water depths reached 15 feet in places.

This week MPs will publish a report on the flooding. Mr Winslade says they must realise that the flooding on the Somerset Levels was very different to that in Cumbria.

In Cumbria the waters went down fast, but his land stayed water-logged for three months.
