Queen visits her son's 'dream village'
The Queen and Prince Philip have been visiting the village of Poundbury in Dorset.
They were led on a tour of the experimental housing development on the outskirts of Dorchester by their son, the Prince of Wales, accompanied by the Duchess of Cornwall.
The model village is the brainchild of Prince Charles and includes a mix of shops, cottages and town houses reflecting his passion for classical architecture but it's the first time that the Queen has visited.
Everyone was very excited at the royal visit.
The royal party have also unveiled a statue of the Queen Mother in the village square. Prince Charles wanted to honour his beloved grandmother at the heart of his model village.
Her last visit to the village was in 1998.
