Pioneering brand new musical created for Bristol Old Vic
Most musicals these days are made for the West End - but in a bold move Bristol's Old Vic has decided to create its own.
It's called The Grinning Man and it's all part of the theatre's 250th anniversary celebrations.
It's set and staged in Bristol and is a unique love story.
At the centre of the plot is a man who was mutilated as a child and exists in a brutal strange world.
Watch the puppets in action:
It's taken four years to create and produce the Grinning Man. And there's a strong team behind it.
Both the director and puppeteers worked on the original version of the sell-out play War Horse.
And like that production - puppets are a strong feature in this musical too.

But to create something so unique is seen as a bold move.
The Grinning Man runs until mid November. And according to the director this is a musical like no other.
