Home buyer confidence is gradually returning across the South West after a dip during the EU referendum campaign.

That's according to the latest survey by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, who say they've seen an increase in enquiries about buying homes.

A shortage of available properties on the market is expected to push prices up across the region as that demand increases - but sales are expected to rise over the next three months.

House prices are predicted to rise further over the next three months nationally, with a balance of 14% of surveyors expecting to see an increaserather than a decrease.

This is the strongest expectation that house prices are set to increase in the near term since March
