A man and woman have been charged after a police car was was taken on a 250 mile joyride.

The vehicle was stolen in Cornwall before being driven to London. It was only stopped four hours later by a police stinger device - leaving the car a wreck.

The journey began in Camelford in Cornwall, before it was initially located near junction 7 of the M4 motorway in Slough, Berkshire.

A 23-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both from Camelford, have been remanded in custody.
